Coblaco Passes Recent SSPC QP Audit

Coblaco Services recently underwent an annual audit with the Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) to maintain our status as a QP1 and QP2 contractor. These certifications are difficult to attain, and having them speaks to our status as a premier industrial coating contractor for field projects and lead abatement work.

The audit process typically involves a review of all CSI’s policies, procedures, qualifications and practices for compliance. Nearly everything we do as a company is fair game for the auditor to ask about: financial standing, industrial applicator training, QC records, equipment maintenance, safety and much more. Having the required documentation in place and being prepared to answer any questions that might come from the SSPC auditor requires extensive preparation - everyone plays a part in this audit and a successful outcome is not possible without the whole CSI team.

This year’s field audit took place at the Denver Water Roberts Tunnel jobsite. The auditor reviewed our operations as we built containment, blasted, and applied coating to the interior of the hydroelectric turbine draft tube. After the site observation and a full day in the office reviewing documentation, Coblaco Services completed the audit with only a few minor findings and we will again be a QP1 and QP2 certified contractor in 2021.
