Meet Coblaco: Industrial Coating Industry Leaders

Coblaco Services, Inc. is a second-generation owned, Colorado-based company that has been recognized as best-in-class in surface preparation, media blasting, and industrial coating services for over 40 years.

Coblaco Services partners with the top coating manufacturers in the world, and is certified in the latest coating technologies. Coblaco Services also owns and operates American Pipeline Services (APS), broadening its range of capabilities to include pipeline coating, grouting, inspection and maintenance.

Coblaco Services is comprised of two Colorado locations; an expansive Production Facility in Henderson, and a corporate office in Aurora. The Production Facility spans over 40 acres and includes more than 30,000 square feet of climate-controlled coating areas.  The facility complements Coblaco’s field services by providing a unique solution to customers, offering both field-based, on location service, as well as a secure facility where coating jobs can be shipped to and from.

As a company, Coblaco Services strives to meet the highest standards in the industry.  It proudly holds both the Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) QP 1 and QP 2 Certifications.  The SSPC QP 1 certification is a nationally-recognized program that evaluates the practices of industrial painting contractors in key areas of business. These standards are considered the MINIMUM level of service and quality for today's coatings industry. The complex nature of coating systems and the specific surface preparations required for these systems have made the QP 1 guidelines vital to the longevity of applied protective coatings.  The QP 2 program recognizes contractors who possess specialized skills, knowledge, policies and practices that make them experts in the removal and disposal of lead and lead-based coatings.

Coblaco Services is also actively involved with the National Association of Coating Engineers (NACE), having seventeen Coblaco employees who are NACE CIP certified, seven of whom are CIP Level III.

Safety is an utmost concern for Coblaco Services.  The company’s current EMR is .85, and Coblaco is a two-time recipient of the Circle of Safety designation through Pinnacol Insurance, an award given to a small number of companies ranked among 40,000 Pinnacol customers.

All of these attributes are summarized in Coblaco’s mission statement: “As a leading industrial specialty services provider, Coblaco Services will create value for our customers, employees and ownership through Smart Growth, Financial Stability, Operational Excellence, Employee Development and Safety.”
